Bread Cheese Bonda


A super snack for a perfect evening along with a cup of coffee/tea or a yummy starter for a party. Simple to make and melts in your mouth with a south-Indian twist to the taste. 

 

Ingredients:

Potato (Boiled & mashed) - 1 Cup
Cheddar/Mozzarella Cheese - 1/2 Cup
Ginger (Finely chopped) - 1 tsp
Corriander leaves (Finely chopped) - 2 tbsp
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Corriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp (adjust the salt as cheese will also contain salt)
Bread slices - 8 nos.
Water - 1/2 Cup
Oil - for frying

How to make:

1. In a bowl mix the mashed potato, cheese, ginger, corriander leaves, chilli powder, corriander podwer, salt and mix well.

2. Dip the bread slice in water and squeeze out the water completely. Keep some stuffing in the center and make to a round balls  by rolling in between your palms and keep aside.

3. Heat oil in a kadai and fry the bonda's. Fry it in medium heat. Take it out when it turns golden brown.

4. Serve it hot with tomato ketchup.

Tomato Onion Chutney 2










 
This is another version of tomato chutney which my mom makes with dhal... Its a super combination for Idli/Dosa....



Ingredients:

Tomato - 2 nos medium size (roughly chopped)
Onion - 1 no. big size (roughly chopped)
Channa Dhal -  1 tbsp
Urad Dhal - 1 1/2 tbsp
Red chilli - 2-3 nos. 
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Asafoedita - 1 pinch
Oil - 1 1/2 tbsp

How to make:

1. In a pan, take 1/2 tbsp oil and roast channa dhal, urad dhal and red chilli for 3-4 mins. Add the asafoedita and take it aside.

2. In the same pan, add 1 tbsp oil, add onion and saute for 2-3 mins. Once the onion becomes transperant, add the tomato and saute for 5 mins. 

3. Once it cools down, grind the same in a mixer with salt. Garnish with corriander leaves(optional).

Dahi Dry Chicken

So far I have posted quite a few non-veg gravies recipe. Now its time for some dry chicken. i googled for some dry recipe and found this interesting. You can try it and relish the tasty dahi dry chicken....


Ingredients:

Boneless Chicken - 500 gms
Onion (Sliced) - 1 Cup
Curd - 1/2 Cup
Salt - 3/4 tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Corriander powder - 1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Oil - 5 tbsp
Corriander leaves - for garnish

How to make:

1. Heat the oil and fry the onion till it becomes dark golden brown. Remove it and keep it aside.

2. In the same oil add the chiken pieces and saute for 3 mins. Now add ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, corriander powder, salt and mix well. saute for 2 mins.

3. Add the curd and fried onion in this and blend well. Cover this keep in simmer for 15-20 mins until the chicken is cooked.

4. Garnish it with corriander leaves and serve it hot...

Masala Chappathi


This is first post for this year... So wanted to make a simple one first... This a variation to the regular chappathi what we normally make at home. Of course very simple to make with difference in taste. Any gravy will go well with this chappathi or if you prefer you can it plain as it is as well...



Ingredients:

Wheat flour (Atta) - 2 Cups
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Corriander powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Water - 3/4 Cup
Oil - 2 tbsp

How to make:

1. Mix all the dry ingredients in a large bowl.

2. Add water make it to a dough. Add the oil and knead for 8-10 mins to make a soft dough.
Use warm water so that the chappathi will come soft.

3. Make chappathi's using oil/butter as per your preference.
